Where most of us see waste, Inês and Lorenzo see potential. They founded Novonovo in 2020 to promote the practice of re-use as a fundamental tool for sustainable development.
Novonovo targets workshops and factories with focus on what they call “secondary materials” – production waste, overstock or unfinished products.
“We aim at making accessible all materials that are in good enough condition to re-enter the productive context: production surplus, production waste and unsold stock. We enable new regenerative cycles allowing the redistribution of these materials avoiding that they become residues.”
Inês and Lorenzo created an online digital platform. Together with their team, they put themselves up to the task of cataloguing the inventory of materials they gathered from the workshops and factories partners of the organization. The catalogue is available on the platform with all materials organized by category, and every person can have access for consultation or placing an order.
